A B O U T
With a focus on avant garde fashion, my design style is best described as psychological couture. My designs explore the psyche through geometric and expressionistic forms. I highly value craftsmanship—a significant portion of my designs are sewn by hand, and possess a big attention to detail.
Inspired by unconventional beauty, as well as the experiences of marginalized people, I hope my designs spark conversation. As a Mexican-American, my designs tend to be deeply personal and reflective of my own mental state and personal experiences. Conversely, as someone interested in environmental conservation, it should be noted that I follow sustainable practices such as avoiding synthetic textiles, zero waste, and repurposing fabric.
Given my designs typically tell a story, I also possess an interest in editorial photography—I enjoy photographing my designs in a manner that will further communicate my idea beyond the clothing. As a designer, I have created a world my designs fall into; as a designer, I want my audience to enter this world and experience the story I have crafted.
In the end, I hope to produce show-stopping designs that can help make people feel powerful. I do not merely create clothes, I strive to create art.
